Artibo Manager is a companion application that lets you register, configure, and manage Cubroid Artibo robot devices (head and body modules) and connect them to your Wi-Fi network and the Artibo cloud service.
This document is provided in English; Korean and Japanese translations are also available from the same product page.

- We do NOT use third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking technologies.
- We do NOT sell your personal information to anyone.
- The Wi-Fi SSID and password you enter to provision an Artibo device are transmitted directly to the device on your local network and to the Artibo cloud service so the device can connect to the internet on your behalf.
- The App requests Location permission only as a system requirement to read Wi-Fi network information on iOS 13 and later. We do NOT record, store, or transmit your geographic coordinates.
- Local Network permission is requested so the App can discover and configure Artibo devices over Wi-Fi.

- Camera, microphone, or photo library content. The App does not access these.
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA), device fingerprints, or analytics events.
- Contacts, calendars, or social media accounts.
- Bluetooth scan results. The App does not use Bluetooth.
3.3 Information stored automatically on your device
The App uses iOS UserDefaults to store the following on your device only:
- Authentication token returned by the server after login (so you stay signed in).
- The most recent Wi-Fi SSID and password you entered for device registration.
- A flag indicating whether your email has been verified.
This data is removed when you tap Logout in the My Artibo tab, or when you delete the App.
4. On-Device Permissions and How They Are Used
When you use a feature that requires a system permission, iOS will display a standard permission dialog. The App requests the following permissions only.
- Location While Using the App (NSLocationWhenInUseUsageDescription)
Required by iOS 13 and later as a precondition to read the SSID of the Wi-Fi network the device is currently joined to. This makes the registration flow easier by pre-filling the SSID. We do NOT read or store geographic coordinates.
- Local Network (NSLocalNetworkUsageDescription)
Required to discover and communicate with an Artibo device that has temporarily entered Wi-Fi setup mode on your local network.
You may deny or revoke any of these permissions at any time in Settings -> Artibo Manager. Without Location, you will need to type the Wi-Fi SSID manually. Without Local Network, the App cannot register a new device.
5. Communication With Our Cloud Service
When you create an account, log in, or register a device, the App communicates with the Artibo cloud service operated by Cubroid Co., Ltd.
- All API calls are sent over HTTPS (TLS).
- The server stores your account email, hashed password, and the Artibo devices linked to your account along with the metadata listed in Section 3.1.
- The server does not record location coordinates, IP-based location, advertising identifiers, or contact information.
- Authentication uses a JWT-style token that expires server-side. You can invalidate the local copy at any time by logging out.
We choose the regional server based on the service region you select during device registration (Asia, Europe, or Americas). Region selection determines where your account and device records are physically stored.
6. Third-Party Services
The App itself does not embed third-party analytics, advertising, or social SDKs. The only network communication the App performs is with the Artibo cloud service operated by Cubroid Co., Ltd.
The Artibo device, once provisioned, communicates with the Artibo cloud independently of the App. That communication is governed by this Policy.
7. Children's Privacy
Artibo Manager is intended for adult users (parents, educators, or owners) who set up and manage Artibo devices. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under the applicable age in your jurisdiction has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at info@cubroid.com and we will delete the account and associated data.
8. Security
- All communication with the Artibo cloud service is performed over HTTPS (TLS).
- Passwords are stored on the server in hashed form. Cubroid employees do not have access to plaintext passwords.
- The authentication token is stored locally in iOS UserDefaults and is removed on logout or App deletion.
- We declare ITSAppUsesNonExemptEncryption = false because we use only standard system HTTPS, which is exempt from US export-control declarations.
We follow industry-standard practices, but no transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If we ever become aware of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify affected users in accordance with applicable law.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data protection laws such as the GDPR (European Union, EEA, and UK), the CCPA (California, USA), or the Personal Information Protection Act (Korea). These typically include the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and associated personal information.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Receive a copy of your personal information in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@cubroid.com with the email address associated with your Artibo Manager account. We will respond within 30 days.
You can delete your account directly through the App in a future version, or by emailing us. Deleting the account removes your email, hashed password, and device registration records from our servers.
10. International Data Transfers
The Artibo cloud service is hosted on regional servers (Asia, Europe, Americas). When you register a device, you select a region. The data described in Section 3.1 is stored in the region you choose.
If you are located in the EU/EEA or UK and select a non-EU region, you consent to the transfer of your data to that region. The transfer is performed under appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.
11. Data Retention
We retain account and device registration data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove the data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records (for example, tax-related communication).
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will:
- Update the Last Updated date at the top of this document.
- For material changes, note the change in the App's release notes for the affected version.
Continued use of the App after a change indicates acceptance of the updated Policy.
